Competitors representing all three levels of the world’s leading driver development platform will return to racing virtually this week when the Ricmotech Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires iRacing eSeries heads to Circuit of The Americas and takes the green flag for the 2nd of 5 events this Saturday, April 4th.
The expected 36 car field is comprised exclusively of drivers in the Road To Indy and will utilize the program’s current points system.  Competitors will be racing for a cause as all registration fees to enter will be donated into a fund to support COVID-19 relief efforts.  The 45-minute race is set for 1:15 pm EDT.  Sponsored by Ricmotech Racing Simulators and administered by Xtrememotorsports99, the series will broadcast live across the iRacing ESN, Road To Indy TV website and app, ApexRacingTV’s YouTube, and on MavTV Canada.
Rob Howden, the Official Voice of the Road to Indy, will lead the eSeries race commentary, including pre- and post-race ceremonies including the presentation of the SimMetric Driver Performance Labs Pole Position Award and the TSO Fastest Lap Award as well as live interviews with podium finishers.
Round 1 winner and RP Motorsport USA driver Phil Denes showed the fastest time in this week’s practice.  But he will face pressure from a host of other speedsters.  Turn 3 Motorsport team owner Peter Dempsey earned pole at Barber Motorsports Park and went on to also set the fastest race lap after being victimized by an early race incident.  Exclusive Autosport’s Braden Eves and Pabst Racing’s Eduardo Barrichello each scored podium finishes at Barber and will be hungry for more as well.
