Over 2,400 drivers took to the track for the final week of competition in the NVIDIA Cup’s 2011 Season 2c and when the dust settled after hundreds of races over the seven day span it was Marco Schnieders standing tall. Not only did Schnieders take the overall win for the week at Okayama International Circuit, the DE-AT-CH Club sim racer also took the championship in the prestigious entry level class on iRacing.

Schnieders’ championship-clinching win came on Monday in a 3506 sof race in which Schnieders led the final 24 laps en route to the victory. Norbert Leitner started on the pole and led the first lap before handing the lead and eventual race win over to Schnieders and would complete the race over two seconds back in the runner-up spot. The online race also saw Slawomir Judek, Wojciech Swirydowicz and Joan Morales finish in the top five of the eleven car field. Schnieders claimed 219 points for his victory, while Leitner went on to start two more races on the week, both of which wound-up as wins for the Central-Eastern Europe Club driver. Leitner came home with second overall for the week with a point total of 170 markers.

2,400+ sim racers challenged Okayama International Circuit in the final round of Season 2c.

Gabor Szabo and Eric Foss ended Week Four with 158 points a piece. Szabo gets the nod for third place overall with his win in a 2531 sof race on July 24th. Szabo led all 25 laps in the win over Judek, Jan Niesiolowski, Bruno do Carmo and Vilmos Rajnai. Meanwhile, Foss took home a checkered flag in a 2524 sof race on Tuesday. Foss paced the field for 25 laps and took the checkers first by nearly five seconds over Robert Strbik, Reuben Bonnici, Filip Verbert and Scott Michaels.

Jan Coomans finished up a solid season with a fifth place overall run in Week Four at Okayama. Coomans took the checkers first in a 2507 sof race on July 23rd in front of an 11 car field. Coomans led all but one lap in the race which saw his #1 cross the line a half second ahead of Kelvin van der Linde. Mikael Hellen was third in the race, followed by Christopher Rodgers and Erno Kuronen. Coomans took home 157 points for the victory.

Steven Sidebotham answered the call to the most green flags this week with 61 while Kaique Piropo picked up 16 victories, the most of any driver on Week Four. Michael Dangel led the most laps with 391 over the seven days of competition. Victor Garcia2 was the quickest in qualifying as he lit up the Okayama circuit in a lap time of 1:00.963. His lap was faster than that of Szabo, Jason Stock, Piropo and Marcelo A Neiva.

Going, going . . . gone. Say goodbye to the iRacing.com NVIDIA Cup until 2011 Season 3.

Schnieders will leave Okayama on Week Four as the champion of the NVIDIA Cup for 2011 Season 2c. Forty-eight points is the margin of victory for Schnieders over Coomans (535-487) while Coomans nipped Leitner at the completion of the season by a single point. Piropo and Szabo completed the top five with Daniel Soto, Swirydowicz, Simo Holm, Tom Sullivan2 and Neiva rounding out the top ten of 5,264 drivers to take to the track this season.
