Week Eleven in the Thrustmaster Mustang Challenge took the sim racers to Braselton, Georgia for the twists and turns of one of the United States’ most famous road courses: 2.54-mile, 12-turn Road Atlanta.  During the week a total of 426 drivers attempted to conquer the monster of a track, but it was Laszlo Kotrocz (England) who sailed away from the field by scoring the most points for Week Eleven.

Weekly High Strength of Field
Although Kimmo Suominen (Finland) didn’t earn the most points for the week, he was able to stomp the field in the week’s highest Strength of Field (SoF) event.  Suominen lead all 18 laps of the online racing event and cruised to a 14.597s margin of victory over second place Danis Richard (Central-Eastern Europe).  Sascha Thomaszik (DE-AT-CH) came home in the third position followed by Samuli Vahonen (Finland) and Mika Vehkala (Finland) who finished in the fourth and fifth positions.

Suominen dominated the top SoDF event of the week at Road Atlanta.

Weekly Standings
Even with not winning the week’s highest SoF event, Kotrocz emerged as the top championship point earner for the week, adding 162 to his season total.  Ralf Janiak (DE-AT-CH) ended his week in the second position followed by Week Eleven’s high SoF winner Suominen, who had an impressive week highlighted by 10 wins in 12 starts.  Teemu Lappalainen (Finland) finished-off the week in the fourth position followed by Kris Tarrant (Australia/NZ) rounding out the top five.

Season Standings
With the great success Dave Gelink (Benelux) has enjoyed over the past 11 weeks of racing, he has almost certainly clinched the championship for Season Two in the Thrustmaster Mustang Challenge.  Gelink currently holds a 306 point lead over second place Balazs Mihaly (Central-Eastern Europe) heading into the final week.  Giorgos Tzanetos (International) currently sits third overall followed by Tarrant and Brett McBurnie (Australia/NZ) rounding out the top five.

Weekly Qualifying
Christopher Roberts (New York) was the fastest man in Georgia for Week Eleven as he posted the fastest overall qualifying time.  Roberts’ time of 1:33.360 was just enough to best Texan Eric Foss, who turned-in a 1:33.365.  Third for the week belonged to Tzanetos followed by Jon Tanko (Iberia) and Ken Leach (New York) who filled the remaining spots in the top five.

More than 400 iRacers unleashed their pony cars on the swoops and curves of Road Atlanta.

Weekly Time Trial
To go along with his superb qualifying efforts for the week, Roberts was also the time trial king during Week Eleven.  His four-lap average of 1:33.503 was just enough to put him ahead of the always fast Tzanetos, who posted an average time of 1:33.518.  Leach, Florian Denard (France) and Tarrant rounded-out the top five for Week Eleven time trial.
