Steven Wilson rebounds for second win of 2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season at inaugural Interlagos event
March 5th, 2025 by Justin Melillo
After kicking off the 2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season with a win at Daytona, Steven Wilson had no intentions of slowing down for the rest of the Regular Season. Six laps into the second race, Wilson was once again out front and poised to keep his perfect season alive. Internet connection issues ended those chances, but with a road course race at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace on the menu for the third race of the season, his chances of bouncing back were huge.
In fact, the Spire Motorsports driver and former series champion was able to bounce back completely from his woes at Las Vegas, scoring a dominant victory in the main race at Interlagos on Tuesday night.

“This rocks,” Wilson said post-race. “Having two wins already this early in the season is awesome. We’re undefeated when we make it to the end of the race. That’s also a good note. We had a really fast piece.”
The victory marks Wilson’s 11th career victory, moving him solely into seventh place all-time, two wins behind 2021 series champion, Keegan Leahy, in sixth, and now one ahead of 2015 series champion, Kenny Humpe, now down to eighth. With two wins, as long as Wilson stays in the top-2o by the end of the regular season, he will be fighting for his second title in the 2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series playoffs later this year.
THE EVENT
The first road course race of the season brought with it a different set of rules than what would be found on a normal oval race night. At both Interlagos and Chicago, the series will feature a qualifying invert, a Sprint race, and a Main event. Points are to be handed out in qualifying to the top-eight before inverting them, meaning the pole winner would start eighth and the eighth place qualifier would be on the pole.
BS+COMPETITION’s Jordy Lopez laid down the fastest lap in qualifying, scoring eight points in the process. Wilson managed to nab sixth, just ahead of Bobby Zalenski (ERA eSports) and Vicente Salas (Kanaan Esports) in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Salas jumped to the pole position for the Sprint. No points were on the line for the 12-lap Sprint race, but the results would set the starting lineup for the Main race of 24-laps. Track position would be crucial throughout the night, as it was difficult to pass. Lopez, who was the fastest in qualifying, never found himself as a threat for the win as a result, finishing ninth in the Sprint before recovering to finish sixth in the Main.
Salas managed to hold off Wilson for the Sprint win. Wilson, who was able to get by Zalenski for the second spot on the opening lap, had a chance to get by, but Salas closed the door and held on for the win. The two would start on the front row for the Main, and that’s when the tables turned.
On the opening lap of the Main, Wilson just looked to have the better start all around. While Salas held the line advantage through the opening corners, when they got to Turn 4, Wilson was able to clear and take the lead. Salas and Zalenski both followed through as the field bottled up behind them
As the race progressed, Salas began to fade. With just under 10 laps to go, Zalenski managed to get by and into second place. By that time, Wilson was gone. 24 laps went by in an instant, and he was able to claim another win on the season.
Throughout the rest of the field, it was cutthroat for every possible point. The defending series champion, Parker White, only managed a 10th place starting spot in qualifying, which meant he missed the invert. During the Sprint, he worked his way up to seventh. In the Main, he got into the top-five and wound up fifth after he was unable to get by Casey Kirwan (Kansas City Pioneers) for fourth. White hasn’t finished a race outside of the top-five since Pocono Raceway in the 2024 season.
Dylan Ault (HYAK Motorsports) and Zack Novak (Channel 199 Sim Racing) both had solid runs, qualifying within the invert and racing within the top-1o the entire evening. Novak’s ninth place run moves him up to second in points, only 11 behind White after three weeks. Ault is having a career-best start to his season, now seventh after three races and in the conversation for the eNASCAR Playoffs early on.
It wasn’t all happy days throughout the field. After a solid run last week, Seth DeMerchant (FGR Accel) had his race ended on Lap 1. A few laps later, Malik Ray (Vegas Inferno) pulled off after sustaining damages early on for his first finish of the season outside the top-10. Last week’s winner, Kollin Keister (Jim Beaver eSports) was subjected to some argy-bargy in the back, and wound up with a 35th place finish.

Parker White continues to lead the way in the overall points standings, but with two wins, Steven Wilson leads the Playoff Standings with 11 races to go until those are set. White, along with Zack Novak and Casey Kirwan, all former champions of the series, sit in the top-three spots on points with only two races to go in the first Segment of the year. The driver with the most points after Rockingham will earn five additional Playoff Points to use should they make the eNASCAR Playoffs this season. Kirwan won the opening Segment last season, but failed to qualify for the playoffs.
In the Team Standings, Williams Esports continues to lead the way, but their lead is now down to seven points over Spire Motorsports. Channel 199 Sim Racing has also thrown their hat into the ring, with Novak and his teammate, Dylan Duval, both scoring top-10 finishes at Interlagos. As for the Rookie of the Year honors, Quentin Warman (HYAK Motorsports) leads by just three points over Connor Yeroschak (Letarte eSports) and six over the former leader, Blaze Crawford (Team Dillon Esports).
In three weeks, the top-level oval stock car sim racers will return to left turns only as the series makes its 16th appearance at Richmond Raceway, the first short track race of the season. Last year, it was Steven Wilson who was victorious in both his Heat race and the Feature, scoring a full 50 points that day. The fourth round on the calendar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25th.
