bcast-screenhunter_09-aug-10-1241After seventeen weeks of fierce competition, Richard Towler and Brad Davies will decide the inaugural NASCAR iRacing.com Series World Championship title between themselves tonight at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  The race, which will be broadcast on iRacing.com, is set for 9 pm eastern time (01:00 GMT) and will be preceded by a special fifteen minute preview featuring iRacing president Tony Gardner and NASCAR’s Nick Rend along with the regular announcing tandem of Nim Cross.

Towler leads Davies by just 34 points going into the decisive event, with Thomas Lewandowski in third ahead of a dead heat for fourth between John Gorlinsky and Josh Berry.  There’s plenty on the line tonight, what with a $10,000 cash prize going to the champion, $3,000 to runner-up and $1,000 to third place on the points chart.  Also on the line are automatic invitations to next year’s NiSWC for this season’s top thirty points-getters.  Daniel Pope II is the man on the bubble at the moment, lying in thirtieth place.  But with Darrin Stevens just one point ahead and five others with a mathematical chance of claiming the thirtieth and final spot, there figures to be no shortage of drama in that phase of tonight’s event.

Catch it all on iRacing.com beginning with the pre-race show at 8:45 pm (12:45 GMT).
