racing gamesTen of the top sim racers from the United States and Canada will square off in New York City in the US/Canada Finals of the Intel GP Series on Saturday, October 9, 2010.  The race – twenty laps of Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway in a Star Mazda – will be broadcast live from the Jacob Javits Center at 12:30 pm EDT (16:30 GMT) on iRacing.com, with special guest commentator Justin Wilson.

The sim racers will be competing for more than $8,000 in prize money and the opportunity to represent the US/Canada region in the Intel GP Series Extreme Masters World Final in Germany come March, 2011.

The ten – top finishers in the US/Canada Regionals held in early September – include Ray Alfalla (Florida), Brad Davies (Florida), Wyatt Gooden (Ohio), Philippe Gosselin (Eastern Canada), Andrew Kristensen (Virginias), Jason Lisner (Virginias), Ryan Murray (Atlantic), John Prather (California), George Sandman (California) and Jake Stergios (New England).  Thanks to Playseat and Logitech, all ten will be running brand new Playseat Evolution chassis and using Logitech G27 steering wheel and pedal sets.

driving gamesSaturday’s four top finishers will go on to compete against European Finalists Bastien Bartsch (France), Greger Huttu (Scandinavia), Richard Towler (England) and David Williams (England) in Germany next spring for the Intel Series World Championship and a share of $17,900 in prize money.

The US/Canada and European finalists will be joined by finalists from the Asia/Australia finals, the details of which will be announced soon.

In the meantime, catch the Intel GP Series US/Canada Finals on Saturday on iRacing.com.   Better yet, watch it live, in person at the Jacob Javits Center on Saturday.  Practice begins at 10:30 am, qualifying runs from 12-12:30 pm and the race begins at 12:35 pm.
