Following in the footsteps of the biggest iRacing Daytona 24 in event history, iRacing, IMSA, and VCO are pleased to share the success of the 2024 iRacing Sebring 12 powered by VCO, the second leg of the 2024 VCO Grand Slam and one of the biggest sim racing events in the world. This year’s iRacing Sebring 12 saw more than 12,000 total drivers and over 4,400 teams, a jump of 38% in participation from last year’s event, competing across splits that started at four different times on Friday and Saturday.

As with the Daytona 24, the 2024 iRacing Sebring 12 reflects the real-world IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship lineup of GTP, LMP2, and GTD cars racing around the clock. iRacing Special Events are open to the entire iRacing service, but iRacing’s matchmaking system splits all of the signups by driver rating, creating dozens of concurrent sessions where each team faces off with other sim racers of a similar skill level.

This year’s visit to Sebring International Raceway was notable as the first iRacing Special Event to deploy since the release of iRacing’s new weather system earlier in the month. A forecast with a high likelihood of rain at some point in each session kept drivers on their toes, and while each session had its own unique weather pattern, most teams were challenged to manage their tires in both dry and wet conditions.

Once again, Williams Esports counted itself among the best in the top split of racers, this time sweeping the GTP and LMP2 classes on Saturday, while Drago Racing took top honors in the GTD class. This year’s VCO Grand Slam top split winners in GTP and GTD earn an automatic berth into the IMSA Esports Global Championship later this year. Two more guaranteed spots in each class will be on the line in the iRacing 6 Hours of the Glen and Petit Le Mans later this year.

2024 iRacing VCO Sebring 12 By the Numbers:

  • 12,422 total drivers
  • 4,466 teams
  • 4,028,109.94 miles completed (161.76 times around the world)
  • 33 years worth of combined driving
  • 2,269 lead changes

iRacing’s Special Events calendar features virtual versions of more than 20 of the world’s biggest races. From 24-hour endurance races to full-length stock car crown jewels and much more, these events are open to the entire iRacing community.
