Dale Earnhardt Jr. Cup and $100,000 prize to be awarded to 2023 series champion; limited seating open to public

NASCAR and iRacing are pleased to announce that the championship race of the 2023 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season will return to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte for the second year in a row on Tuesday, September 26. The top stock car sim racers in the world will be on hand to do battle for the rights to this year’s $100,000 champion’s prize and the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Cup. Limited seating for the event will be open to the public, with fans able to RSVP on a first-come, first-serve basis at tickets@iracing.com.

“NASCAR is thrilled to announce the return of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series championship to the prestigious NASCAR Hall of Fame for its second consecutive year. As we prepare to host this momentous occasion, we eagerly anticipate the grand spectacle that will mark the crowning of our 2023 champion this coming September. The fusion of innovation and tradition promises to make this event unforgettable, further reinforcing our dedication to the growth and excellence of both the series and sim racing as a whole” – Ray Smith, Director; Gaming & Esports.

“We can’t wait to crown an eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series champion at the NASCAR Hall of Fame once again this year,” said Steve Myers, iRacing Executive Vice President. “NASCAR continues to elevate the top iRacers in the world through its support of our events, and bringing the series back to Charlotte for another live finale is a great example of their commitment. Last year’s event was an incredible showcase of just how intense top-level sim racing can be, and we can’t wait to hand off the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Cup to another deserving champion in September!”

As was the case last year, the series’ Championship 4 drivers will compete in the season finale live on stage, while the remaining 36 drivers will compete from their homes. Also on hand in Charlotte will be the pre-race Countdown to Green and race broadcast itself, with Steve Letarte, Alan Cavanna, and Evan Posocco all on hand to call the championship action. The event will feature the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway, home to many of eNASCAR’s most thrilling finishes over the years—including a drag race to the line between Zack Novak and Keegan Leahy in 2019 that aired live on the NBC Sports Network.

In last year’s inaugural NASCAR Hall of Fame live event, it was XSET’s Casey Kirwan who outlasted Bobby Zalenski of Joe Gibbs Racing, Graham Bowlin of Charlotte Phoenix, and Steven Wilson of Stewart-Haas Racing to take home his first eNASCAR title. Kirwan, Wilson, and Zalenski are once again part of this year’s eNASCAR playoffs, which will see up to three race winners and at least one top point-scorer qualify for the trip to Charlotte. Jim Beaver eSports driver Garrett Lowe was the first driver to guarantee his spot on stage when he won the opening playoff round from the virtual Michigan International Speedway.

The eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series broadcast kicks off with the Countdown to Green pre-race show, presented by Wendy’s, at 8 p.m. ET before the green flag falls at 9 p.m. Fans can stream live at eNASCAR.com/live and across NASCAR and iRacing social media channels.
