iRacing Teams Up With Super Formula for 2023 Season 4 Release

iRacing and Super Formula are pleased to announce that the Super Formula SF23 is now available on iRacing as part of the 2023 Season 4 build. The SF23 represents the debut for Japan’s premier open-wheel racing series on the world’s premier motorsport simulator, and sees the car available for purchase now for all users. In addition, iRacing users who purchase the car will be able to access a free trial of SFgo, Super Formula’s official streaming service, through December 6, enabling them to watch the remainder of the 2023 season.

“As we continue to add premier racing series from around the world to iRacing, we’re excited to team up with Super Formula to release the SF23 as part of our 2023 Season 4 build,” said iRacing president Tony Gardner. “Super Formula is the pinnacle of open-wheel racing in Japan, and it visits many of the most popular tracks on iRacing. We can’t wait for our users to get to experience the SF23 and take on this unique and challenging form of racing.”

iRacers can take advantage of the new car release to watch the conclusion of the 2023 Super Formula season on SFgo, the series’ official streaming platform. Just two rounds remain in the 2023 season, a doubleheader at Suzuka International Racing Course on October 27-29, while Ritomo Miyata leads the standings over Liam Lawson by just eight points. iRacers who purchase the SF23 through October 25 will receive their free trial access on October 27, just in time for the finale, and free trial access will continue through December 6.

The history of top-level formula car racing in Japan dates back 50 years under various forms. What is now known as Super Formula was established in 1996 as Formula Nippon, and it adopted its current name in 2013. The series moved to its current 2.0-liter I4 engine formula in 2014, and the current chassis, the SF23, was introduced for the current season with improved aerodynamics. As the top series in Japan, Super Formula has served as a stepping stone for drivers looking to compete on a global stage.

The Super Formula SF23 is on sale now as part of iRacing’s 2023 Season 4 content release. Many of Super Formula’s current and past tracks, including Suzuka, Fuji Speedway, Mobility Resort Motegi, and Okayama International Circuit, are also available on iRacing, giving users an authentic Japanese formula racing experience.
