More than 40 of the world’s best sim racers will go door-to-door for 100 laps tonight at Pocono Raceway in Round 8 of the 2017 NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series. The race will be broadcast on iRacing Live at 8:45 PM eastern (00:45 GMT Wednesday).
As the series hits the mid-point of the 16 race schedule a familiar name stands atop the points race: Ray Alfalla. The three time series champion will be out to make it two wins in a row tonight following his second checkered flag of the season at Charlotte. Rookie Bobby Zalenski sits in second place in the standings and will be looking to earn his second win of the campaign at Pocono while fellow series newcomer Ryan Luza hopes to rebound from a disappointing outing at Charlotte that knocked him from the series lead down to third place in the standings.
Alfalla, Zalenski, Luza and their NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series rivals raced their way into the series by besting nearly 60,000 fellow iRacers in NASCAR-sanctioned online competition. They proved they are the best by consistently beating the top online racers in NASCAR Camping World Trucks, Xfinity Series and Monster Energy Cup cars, and now they race for a NASCAR championship that includes $10,000 in prize money, a NASCAR trophy and champions ring – just like those worn by Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and all the other great NASCAR champions.
Be sure to catch all the sim racing action from Pocono at 8:45 pm eastern tonight (00:45 GMT Wednesday) on iRacing Live.
