This week, the iRacing Britcar 24 Presented by Cosworth takes the spotlight with GT3 and GT4 machinery taking on the Silverstone Circuit in a twice around the clock, multi-class GT team showdown.

ABOUT THE 2026 iRACING BRITCAR 24
While the top tier of motorsport is defined by names like Verstappen, Hamilton, Senna and Schumacher, the Britcar 24 is probably better associated with Clarkson, Hammond, May and Broadbent.
First held at Silverstone in 2005, the event brought 24-hour endurance racing back to the UK with grids featuring everything from GT machinery and touring cars to club racers and a now-famous diesel BMW. In 2026, the Britcar 24 joins the iRacing Special Events calendar with GT3 and GT4 cars taking on a full day and night around Silverstone.
This weekend, from September 18th to the 20th, iRacing members can sign up with a team to take on the Silverstone Circuit for a 24 hour endurance in the iRacing multiclass, team racing format. This race is an open setup event and will be scheduled in the sim for September 19th at 3:30 PM. Dynamic weather is enabled as well. Please plan accordingly with your team for this 24 hour long event!
Participating teams are required to declare their drivers at registration. A team is officially eligible at a minimum of two drivers, and up to a maximum of 16 drivers. With fair share enabled, all declared drivers will have to meet a threshold of laps in conjunction with the team’s total laps for the entry to be legal by the end of the event. Registration opens 60 minutes prior, and sessions will include both a 30 minute warmup and an eight minute, two lap qualifying session. Splits are determined by iRating.
This event is open to iRacing members that have a Sports Car license at Class C or higher, or at Class D with a 4.0 Safety Rating. Splits can have up to 60 teams, and a disqualification limit has been set at 250 incident points, or 250X per team. Stop and Go penalties will be administered after 100 incidents, or 100X, and every 20 incidents (20X) afterward until the limit is reached and disqualification occurs.
Every car in the field has been BOP adjusted in some way or fashion, whether it be in the fuel, the weight, or the power. Those numbers are available now, but could potentially be updated on Wednesday prior to the event. Those numbers are available on the iRacing Forum post here.

ABOUT SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT
Silverstone Circuit’s current layout is one of the longest in its storied history, which includes the first-ever race of the Formula One World Driver’s Championship in 1950. Two years later, Frolian Gonzales gave Ferrari its first-ever F1 victory there, and the rest is history. In the nearly seven decades that have followed, the former World War II air base has become one of the world’s legendary motorsport venues.
Located in the English midlands, northwest of London and in the middle of the British motorsports industry, the facility that each year hosts the British Grand Prix bears scant resemblance to the original circuit that was made up of linked runways. Silverstone is host each year to a myriad of road racing classes, ranging from Formula One to Formula Ford in the open-wheel category, and numerous sports and GT series including the European Le Mans Series, British GT Championship, touring car and club racing.
Though the facility has little in the way of elevation changes as a former air base, for much of its history Silverstone was known for its ultra-fast sweeping corners and fast average speeds. Though the requirements of modern Formula One forced the addition of chicanes and other devices to slow speeds down from the insane to the merely ridiculous, the track retains many of the characteristics that originally made it famous.
