From August 26th to September 4th, over 300 eligible collegiate iRacers took to Charlotte Motor Speedway in hopes of qualifying for the inaugural eNASCAR College iRacing Series Tournament, the Queen City Crown, the first week of the competition slated for September 17th.

Over 200 schools were represented in this first Time Attack. These students collectively put down more than 45,000 laps around the 1.5-mile quad oval in Concord, North Carolina.

Arizona State University’s Bradley Erickson laid down the fastest lap, a time of 30.017 seconds. The gap down to 120th was only 0.117 seconds, as The Ohio State University’s Tre Miller was the last to qualify in with a time of 30.134 seconds. That’s just about a difference of 10 yards on a standard football field. By the standards of a standard NASCAR Craftsman Truck, that distance is under two truck lengths. Simply put, these times were super close.

Connor Yeroschak is the defending race winner at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Drivers will be snake-split into three Groups for the first week of the Tournament, where the top-three qualifiers in the Time Attack headline each Group of 40 drivers. The fastest driver in Group 2 is Jalen Atkins from Belmont Abbey College. Eastern Shore Community College driver Arron Brown has the fastest time for Group 3.

Other notable drivers in the field include the defending series champion, Logan Clampitt (California State University, Fullerton), eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series talents Dylan Ault (Sacramento State), Alexander Russell (University of Wisconsin–Madison), Connor Yeroschak (University of Calgary), Daniel Faulkingham (University of Maine at Machias), and Timothy Holmes (Horry Georgetown Technical College), as well as former College Series winners Matthew Zwack (University of Michigan) and John Forbes Jr (Saddleback College).
