The 2025 Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series continues with a pair of races scheduled at Lime Rock Park on Thursday night. After Hot Lap Qualifying via Time Attack from July 4th to the 6th, 20 drivers have qualified for their shot to contend for more than $500,000 in prizes and the opportunity to run in the real-world Skip Barber Formula Race Series.

Race Coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. ET at iRacing.com/live and across iRacing Social Media Channels.

DRIVER ROSTER

The following 20 drivers are entered into the second race of the 2025 season at Lime Rock Park:

RACE NIGHT FORMAT

Every one of the six races this season will feature two races, each set for a timed amount of 15 minutes, and all competitors utilizing fixed setups.

While all 20 drivers needed to set their fastest times in the official Time Attack leading up to tonight, these pair of races will still be set by one more lone qualifying lap for the opening event. To set the second race grid of the night, the results from the first race will be how that is determined.

Every race offers up to 35 points to the winner, with that making a perfect night a 70 point day in winning both races. The Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series Champion will be determined by the total number of points earned during the season, excluding the lowest two individual race scores which will be deducted to determine the final points. The lowest individual race scores include zeros, disqualifications, and non-participated-in races.

LAST RACE

The 2025 Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series continued where it left off in 2025—with Matt Caruana in virtual victory lane. While Caruana concluded the season with a VIRginia International Raceway victory in 2024, he began 2025 with back-to-back wins in the series’ inaugural visit to Sebring International Raceway. From the fifth row in the first race after qualifying, Caruana swiftly picked off each driver ahead, coming to blows with Aaron Vazquezz for the win. In the second race, it looked as though Caruana would have to settle for third, but in the final corner, Vazquezz and Aiden Young barely made enough contact to slow them both, allowing for the Caruana sweep.

LAST SEASON

In the 2024 visit to Lime Rock Park, Victor Miranda was of course one of the two winners that day, having been the only driver in the 2024 Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series season to win one race in every double header. His main competition included Matt Bussa, who was close to his own sweep on that day. Bussa won the opening event over Leo Ovtcharov, with Miranda finishing down in third. In the second race, it was Miranda versus Bussa, with the former claiming victory.

TRACK FACTS

Opened in 1957, Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park has been a staple of American road racing across countless sports car and open-wheel sanctioning bodies. At 1.53-miles in length, the seven-turn, clockwise circuit begins with a long frontstretch into the right-handed corner nicknamed Big Bend. It then continues into the Esses and No Name Straight, and wraps up with the challenging Downhill right-hander. Skip Barber is a part of the ownership group at the track.

NEXT RACE

Following Lime Rock, the Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series continues the 2025 season with a trip to the North Course at VIRginia International Raceway. This Hot Lap Qualifier is active from Friday, July 18th at 12 a.m. ET to Sunday, July 20th at 11:59 p.m. ET. The entry fee for each Hot Lap Qualifier is $20, and the top 20 drivers on the Time Attack leaderboard will be invited to run each race. They’ll also get to take part in an open test with Skip Barber Racing School instructors on hand to provide feedback. The main event will run on Thursday, July 24th.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series is where future stars of real-world motorsport prove themselves in the virtual one. Using the iRacing Formula 4 machine, drivers take part in an open qualifier each week, and the top racers registered in the program are selected to compete on Thursday nights.

The top three point scorers at season’s end will receive a 3 Day Racing School and compete in a shootout later this year for a 2026 Skip Barber Race Series seat. 1 Day Racing School certificates will be awarded to fourth and fifth in points, as well as the Hard Charger Award winner from each race, and all of the qualifiers for each race will earn a one-time $200 credit towards an SBRS course.
