The iRacing Off-Road Championship Series takes a week off from points racing to switch it up and head to Crandon International Raceway’s short layout with the Pro 2 truck. Coverage kicks off at 8PM ET across iRacing social media channels with All-Star action featuring top real-world drivers and Twitch streamers, while the 24 top off-road sim racers in the world will take on this week’s showcase race at 9PM ET.

Race Info: This week’s race showcases the Pro 2 truck, which boasts as much raw power (upwards of 800 horsepower) as the Pro 4 that drivers are running in the chase for a $25,000 purse but uses rear-wheel drive. It forces racers to approach the tracks differently, rewarding a different type of throttle control and overall driving style. Pro 2s are normally slightly slower than Pro 4s, but can post fairly close lap times in the most capable hands. After a driver vote, the non-points session will also feature fixed setups.

Championship Series: Last year’s thrilling championship battle between Connor Barry and Keaton Swane saw each driver post dominant results, with Barry’s perfect top 10 record just enough to take the inaugural title. As an encore, they’re first and second again so far this year, but this time it’s Swane leading Barry by two points. However, top rookies Jarrett Liebert (-14) and Joel Blewitt (-21) have proven themselves to be worthy adversaries, with each winning races

All-Star Series: For the last five rounds of the season, the All-Star Series will start a new points chase of their own as they switch to the Pro 4. Zac Drapkin took the top spot among the Pro eSports class in the Pro 2 Lite, while Nate Stewart was the champion among the Celebrity drivers.

Track Facts: Known as “The Big House,” Crandon International Raceway is the only short course track on iRacing to feature multiple layouts. While drivers still take part in the traditional land rush start and run through the track’s famous first turn, an immediate left-hander after the finish line jump cuts off roughly half the track. The Crandon short layout has never been used in the Off-Road Championship Series until now.

Next Up: Following this week’s exhibition, the iRacing Off-Road Championship Series will kick off the second half of its season at Wild West Motorsports Park on Wednesday, August 2. The opening doubleheader of the season at Wild West saw Swane and Liebert split the race wins.
