The iRacing Off-Road Championship Series returns to action on Wednesday night with Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2023 campaign, hitting its halfway point at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Coverage kicks off at 8PM ET across iRacing social media channels with All-Star action featuring top real-world drivers and Twitch streamers, while the 24 top off-road sim racers in the world will resume their battle for a $25,000 purse at 9PM ET.

Last Race: Two more first-time winners joined the roster at Bark River International Raceway last week, and this time, both were series rookies. Team Gold’s Joel Blewitt made good on the potential he showed at the season opener at Wild West, this time holding off points leader Keaton Swane of Factory Simsport in the first race after Swane beat him in the opening event. In the second race, it was Team Rogue’s Parker Retzlaff, a former eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series competitor and current NASCAR Xfinity Series full-timer, taking a big win over teammate and fellow 2023 race winner Jarrett Liebert. Swane maintains a single-digit points lead over Nitro Circus’ Connor Barry, the defending series champion.

Last Year: Multi-time iRacing World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Alex Bergeron was the master of Wild Horse Pass last year, winning a round each across the track’s two doubleheader events. Fellow Canadian Felix Roy and Swane split the two doubleheaders with Bergeron on their way to top-three championship finishes.

Track Facts: Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park is one of America’s most diverse racing facilities. Opened in 1983 as Firebird Raceway, the Chandler, Arizona-based facility has hosted everything from IMSA to drag racing and superbikes to powerboats. The track hosted professional short course off-road racing from 2010 to 2020, and also has a history with rallycross across two different series.

Next Up: Following Wild Horse Pass, the iRacing Off-Road Championship Series will take a week off from points racing at Crandon International Raceway on Wednesday, July 26. For one night only, the pros will trade in their Pro 4s for Pro 2s, doing battle in the rear-wheel drive machines on Crandon’s short layout as a top-level exhibition of iRacing’s other top-level off-road truck.
