Week Nine of the NASCAR iRacing.com Class B Series made its way to Iowa Speedway and the cornfields of the Hawkeye State for the second to last short track of the season.  Simon Crochart held the points lead heading to Iowa and looked to improve his margin over second place Ashley Miller.  For the week, 284 sim racers took to the .875 mile oval for a race.

Week Nine saw classic NiCBS short track action at Iowa Speedway.

Jared Crawford topped the point standings for the week following his win in the Strength of Field race on Friday night.  Crawford led from start to finish, coming home 1s clear of Crochart with Brandon Buie a further .2s in arrears.   Crawford collected 299 points for the win, with Crochart and Buie earning 284 and 269 points, respectively. Phil Juhring took home 254 points from Iowa and, with Miller earning 239 points, it was mission accomplished for Crochart as he increased his advantage on Miller by 45 markers.

Crawford also topped the qualifying charts after laying down a 22.193s lap around the pint-sized speedway. Francis Dunnett (22.201s), Chad J Laughton (22.208s), Phil Juhring (22.233s) and Crochart (22.245s) completed the top five.

Brandon Six led the series in total starts for the week with 15.  Six would also collect seven wins to lead the series and, in addition, set the standard in top fives and pole positions.

Crochart now holds a commanding 348 point lead over Miller in the overall standings for the season.  However, the battle for runner-up is considerably tighter as Scribner sits third, 67 points adrift of Miller with Tom Moustakas fourth followed by Jeffery Parker in fifth.

The NASCAR iRacing.com Class B Series heads to North Carolina’s historic Rockingham Speedway for Week Ten of the season.  Can anyone catch Crochart following nine weeks of competition?  Find out next week only on inRacingNews.com.
