Monday night’s festivities at Lincoln Speedway, the fourth round of the 2025-26 World of Outlaws iRacing Pro Series season, saw a fourth new winner on the season, and once again it was not the defending series champion, despite his best efforts to lead the majority of the way.

Logan Rumsey led nearly every lap from the third starting spot. A number of cautions kept the field close, but it seemed as though his line was impenetrable by the driver right behind, Ryan Avila. On the final lap, Avila managed to size Rumsey up perfectly, diving into the final corner to take the lead for the first time all night, hanging on for the victory at the line.

“I knew I was really good the whole race,” Avila said post-race. “I set myself up really good. Honestly, the track just came to me. I knew I was super loose in the beginning, that meant I would be really good at the end… Another win, it feels great. I told Tanner (Pettit) that I’m very confident this week. Confidence plays a big key when you run these races. I ran the perfect line at the end there, and honestly, (Rumsey) couldn’t do anything about it.”

This marks Avila’s second-career victory in the series, his first coming at the inaugural Huset’s Speedway race in the 2024-25 season. The victory bumps Avila up to 10th in the standings, 108 points behind entering the Sprint Car Tournament at Knoxville Raceway next week.

QUALIFYING

During the regular races in the 2025-26 World of Outlaws iRacing Pro Series season, 22 drivers will qualify for each Feature race. Eight of those spots are filled almost immediately through Qualifying, where the first 25 points of the night are on the line. Setting quick time will earn 25 points, but will invert that driver to starting eighth in the Feature, whereas eighth will invert to the pole position, but only collect 17 points. Everyone from ninth on back in Qualifying are to be split into four equal Heat races.

This week, it was Bryce Lucius setting the quick time in qualifying. Lucius scored 25 points, but inverted down to eighth for the Feature. Moving up to the pole position was Chase Stewart after qualifying in eighth. Other notables transferring right away included Avila, qualifying second, and Rumsey, who qualified in sixth.

Qualifying Transfers:

  1. Bryce Lucius
  2. Ryan Avila
  3. Shawn English
  4. Kenny Hoffman
  5. John Helms
  6. Logan Rumsey
  7. Dylan Yeager
  8. Chase Stewart

HEAT RACES

In the four Heat races, up to eight drivers compete for eight laps, the top-three finishers advancing to the Feature later in the night. Points are awarded to the finishing positions in each Heat, that way all 40 drivers walk away with something for making the show. Heat winners earn 15 points, while eighth place finishers only claim eight points. The 20 drivers that don’t advance to the Feature through Qualifying or the Heats are sent to one of the two Last Chance Shootout races.

The first Heat saw some familiar faces facing off, with the two most-recent winners—Mason Hannagan and Landon Cardoza—leading the field to green. They had Blake Carrick also advancing out of the opening Heat alongside. In the second Heat, there was a tie for the final spot between Bradley Cox and Ethan Pholi, with Cox getting the nod to the Feature. Heat 3 saw some of the best racing of the night, with Aiden Forster claiming the win. The fourth and final Heat was a bit stacked. While Aiden Price went on to win, the battle behind had Tyler Schell, Alex Bergeron, and Tanner Pettit fighting for the last two spots. Schell and Bergeron moved on, while the points leader, Pettit, was relegated to the Last Chance Showdown.

Heat 1 Transfers:

  1. Mason Hannagan
  2. Landon Cardoza
  3. Blake Carrick

Heat 2 Transfers:

  1. Shaun Smith
  2. Cole Hastie
  3. Bradley Cox

Heat 3 Transfers:

  3. Aiden Stull

Heat 4 Transfers:

  1. Aiden Price
  2. Tyler Schell
  3. Alex Bergeron

LAST CHANCE SHOWDOWNS

The final shot to race in the Feature is by winning one of the two Last Chance Showdown races. These races include up to 10 cars each, but only the winner can move on. There are no points awarded in these races.

In the first LCS, only two cars made it to the checkers. James Edens was able to make it to the end, but lost out on the transfer spot to Noah Carmichael. The second and final LCS saw Pettit line up in second behind Pholi. Only one could transfer, and Pholi was able to gap Pettit for it, forcing the points leader entering to sit out the main event.

Last Chance Showdown Transfers:

  1. Noah Carmichael
  2. Ethan Pholi

FEATURE RACE

Chase Stewart, by virtue of the invert, led the field to the green flag and led the opening lap, but into Turn 1, Logan Rumsey sent it and took it away. Rumsey maintained that lead until the field was bunched up for the first caution of the night, the incident involving Ethan Johnson and Tyler Schell. On the restart, Rumsey was able to get away as Kenny Hoffman and Stewart battled for the second spot. Up to fourth was Ryan Avila, biding his time, keeping his car contact-free early on.

Avila managed to get to second before the second caution of the night flew for Mason Hannagan and Dylan Yeager colliding. A few laps later, just as the field took the halfway mark of the race, Shawn English went around and out of contention. The field re-racked once more, with 17 laps to go, Avila was starting to stalk Rumsey up front. A fourth-and-final caution just before 10 laps to go would bunch up the field one more time, and that was just enough for Avila to set up for the pass on the final lap.

Leading up to that final lap, both drivers were taking similar lines. Rumsey’s line looked as though it could not be beaten, as he slid perfectly with the gap in the wall to utilize the entire surface, cutting off all potential runs from the outside. The pass ultimately came from the inside, however, as Avila was able to get a perfect exit off of Turn 2 on the final lap and get alongside Rumsey. Into Turn 3, Rumsey set himself up to do a perfect crossover, but Avila had enough grip on the bottom to stave off the charge and collect the win.

Tanner Pettit, who failed to make the Feature this week, drops from first to seventh, not mathematically out of the conversation, but he will need to do well and hope his competitors don’t.

NEXT UP: SPRINT CAR TOURNAMENT AT KNOXVILLE

The World of Outlaws iRacing Pro Series returns next week with the fifth round of the 2025-26 season at Knoxville Raceway. This round will be different as it will be the first of two tournaments on the season, and will conclude the 410 Sprint Car portion of the championship as well.

From the current standings, the top-60 drivers will be locked into the Tournament, and the format will be slightly different to compensate for the additional 20 drivers in the field. The top-eight drivers will still advance and invert to the Feature field, but instead of four Heat races, there will be six Heat races, splitting the 52 drivers up into groups of eight or nine drivers. Only the top-two will advance out of each Heat in this go around. Three more spots will be available as a third Last Chance Showdown is added, only the winners advancing once again.

Monetary prizes are on the line for the top finishers in the Tournament. A Sprint Car segment champion will also be crowned, and after the holiday and new year break, the series will return with Late Model action for the second half of the year, with the Qualifying Series re-opening from December 30th to January 1st at Oswego Speedway.

The Tournament action from Knoxville kicks off next Monday night at 8:00 p.m. ET and it will be live on DIRTVision and across all of iRacing’s social media channels.
