The 2025 FIA F4 Global Esports Championship presented by MOZA hit the halfway point of the season on Saturday afternoon as two new winners—this time, from two returning drivers to the series, both from Spain—claimed wins at the Suzuka International Racing Course and the Red Bull Ring. In the first race of the day, Spain’s Alejandro Sánchez held off a Grid and Go duo of Monaco’s Miguel Costa and Spain’s Aaron Vazquez on the final lap to claim his first win of the season at Suzuka. Later in the afternoon, the Czech Republic’s Martin Kadlečík relieved a scenario he faced two weeks ago—dominating from the pole just to lose on the last lap—as Vazquez prevailed for his first-career win in the series at the Red Bull Ring.

With points only awarded to the top-15 finishers in the 39-driver field, the standings shook up with Vazquez taking over as the points leader. Sánchez falls in at second after finding trouble in Spielberg. The leader entering, the United Kingdom’s Dan Amor, falls to third after finishing fifth at Suzuka and 13th in Austria. The other winner on the season, Henry Moore, didn’t score points at Suzuka, but finished sixth at the Red Bull Ring, and now sits fifth in the championship, four points behind Kadlečík in third. The defending series champion, the United Kingdom’s Luke McKeown, had a pair of top-10 finishes lined up after scoring eighth at Suzuka. However, a late penalty sent McKeown outside of the points, leaving him tied for fifth after four races with Moore and  the United Kingdom’s Isaac Phelps.

Four more races remain in this second season, and for the most part, it’s been the Europe region, the region that had the most top Strength of Field races in the qualifying regional series, leading the way. Racing returns in two weeks from two tracks that won’t be revealed until 24 hours before the race day.

RACE #3 at Suzuka | Alejandro Sánchez versus the Grid And Go world; Sánchez prevails

In the virtual land of the rising sun, the 39 top global competitors took to Suzuka International Racing Course for the first 15-minute race of the afternoon. Alejandro Sánchez claimed the top spot in qualifying, leading the grid alongside Japan’s Shoma Shintani. From the standing start, Sánchez got a great launch as Shintani attempted to fall into second.

Two Europeans representing Grid And Go Esports, Miguel Costa and Aaron Vazquez, were lined up in third and fourth, and by the end of the first lap, had leapfrogged Shintani, setting their sights on Sánchez and the top spot. Dan Amor, from the seventh starting spot, eventually moved his way into the conversation, a similar sight as Road Atlanta looked a week prior. Australia’s Zach Rattray-White also found himself in the middle of it all. On the final lap, Amor was shuffled out of the battle, leaving Sánchez to fend for himself against Costa and Vazquez. Sánchez held on, with Vazquez and Rattray-White claiming podium finishes behind. Costa wound up fourth, with Amor fifth and Shintani sixth.

“I just tried to make the car as wide as possible,” Sánchez said post-race. “I tried to fight hard, but at the same time, clean. I saw that Aaron was giving a lot of space and stuff, so props to him. Quite a nice and clean battle. I was very lucky in the last corner, because our cars got hooked together. It made my car make the corner, where sometimes, it just makes it instantly spin. Happy for that, happy with the race, happy with qualy, and just looking forward to the next one.”

Spain’s Pablo Espes, Japan’s Yuki Okonogi, France’s  Gaël Valero, and Brazil’s Felipe Pujol Dantas all finished inside the top-15 to earn points after not starting inside the top-15. Okonogi gained the most spots of the group, moving from 20th to finish 13th. Falling out of the points after starting there included Japan’s Kazuki Fujita, the United Kingdom’s Henry Moore, Arizona’s Elvis Rankin, and Chile’s Felipe Cabrera Loyola.

RACE #4 at the Red Bull Ring | Kadlečík dominates again, loses to Vazquez on final lap

Two weeks ago, Martin Kadlečík claimed the pole position at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and led, with help from Dan Amor, until the final lap, where Amor made the move into the first corner and Kadlečík was relegated out of the conversation for the win. At the Red Bull Ring, Kadlečík claimed the pole, starting alongside Miguel Costa, and led from the get go. Once again, his night would not end in victory lane.

Costa wound up out of contention on the fourth lap, giving Kadlečík a solid lead over Elvis Rankin and Aaron Vazquez as the laps clicked away. On the final lap, Vazquez began to make his move. Vazquez made his way around Rankin easily, and with only a couple of corners to go, had Kadlečík in his sights. On the final corner, Vazquez went outside, Kadlečík stayed in the middle, and Rankin went to the right. The trio crossed the line three-wide. Kadlečík was relegated to finish in third. Rankin had just gotten by to get second on the podium. Vazquez held on for the win.

“It was an insane race for me,” Vazquez said post-race. “At the start of the race, I was fighting with Luke McKeown, and I lost the draft almost. I was pushing a lot to get back to the front group. At some point, I was thinking that maybe I cannot fight with the guys in front because I lost the draft… The draft was not too big, like I was expecting to be at the Red Bull Ring, to be honest. It was so difficult to get the draft… I was so excited to finish last year in P3, but P3 with no wins. This year I wanted to do something different, I wanted to win a single race at least in the championship… I got it, I’m so happy… We will see what we can do for the rest of the championship.”

The second race of the day had a lot more attrition, but 12 of the top-15 starters finished in the points. Besides Costa, both Luke McKeown and Florida’s Xander Reed wound up penalized post-race, forcing them out of the points. Claiming points-paying finishes as a result were Dan Amor, from 32nd, Felipe Pujol Dantas from 23rd, and Brazil’s Victor Miranda, finishing 15th from starting in 34th.

  3. #41 Dan Amor | Europe | -14
  4. #31 Martin Kadlečík | Europe | -19
  5. #72 Henry Moore | Europe | -23

The Europe region has dominated the opening half of the 2025 season, with two Spaniards leading the way after claiming the two most-recent victories. Elvis Rankin is the lone driver inside the top-10 not from Europe, the American sitting in eighth. The leading driver from the Asia-Pacific region is Zach Rattray-White, who sits 11th. With 100 points still on the table, anyone can still win it all, but Vazquez sits in the best position after four races with a half-race lead over the field.

Next up will be the fifth and sixth races of the season, scheduled for November 22nd at 19:00 GMT, or 2:00 p.m. ET, or 05:00 AEST. Those tracks, of course, won’t be revealed until the day prior on social media.

Every round of the 2025 FIA F4 Global Esports Championship Presented by MOZA will be broadcasted on all of iRacing’s official channels.
