With the 2013 S2 finish line on the horizon, it’s time to crunch some numbers in the iGPS.

Heading into the last third of 2013 Season 2 of the iRacing.com Grand Prix Series, the top 10 finishers overall earn a license to compete in the iRacing.com Road Pro Series starting in late October. This is how the season is shaping up . . .

Looking at the numbers drivers should be aiming for a certain point total when it comes to finishing-off the season of online racing with the Williams-Toyota FW31.

A driver with the point total of 2060 will clinch the championship and the magic number to clinch the top ten and obtain the elusive point total is 1870. These numbers will probably go down as we get to the last week, but for mathematical purposes these are the numbers these sim-racers should target.

ALMOST CLINCHED

These drivers can clinch this week:

Paolo Muià can clinch if he obtains a point total of 282 points. Although the average top points for this season have been around 260 mark, the Strength of Field (SoF) can go high enough to help Paolo clinch.

Robin Friskopps can clinch if he obtains a point total of 152. Because he missed a week and is in second place a solid week this week could place him in a clinched position and on his way to the Pro Series.

These drivers are in a very good position to set themselves up to clinch. Although none of them can clinch this week, with a solid week these drivers can set themselves up to confirm their spot in the Pro Series.

It should also be noted that Joonas Nukarinen and Tommy Nilsson have both missed weeks and that any points earned this week will be added to their point total and not taken away due to a drop.

ON THE BUBBLE

These guys are on the bubble; solid weeks here and they will gain spots, miss the mark and their bubble will be popped. In this category you should also note Michele Mancusi had a very low drop week and could be considered in the same postion as Nukarinen and Nilsson.

These drivers have a good shot and are still in the fight and contention to win a spot in the Pro Series. A few of these guys have missed weeks here but don’t be surprised if you see them pop the bubbles of those ahead of them.

These drivers are still in the fight. Strong weeks and they will find themselves closer to the top; weak weeks and they could be considered out.

The only driver in the top 50 that has been eliminated is David Cudmore.
