Welcome back to This Week in iRacing, our weekly post that details all you need to know about what is going on in the world of iRacing!

As always, This Week includes topics ranging from official eSports to some of the top community-driven events, and everything in between.

Here’s what you should know for Week 9 of 2024 Season 1, from February 6th to February 12th, 2024.

For the Members: iRacing Official Series Highlights

Every week, iRacing offers daily, even hourly racing that members can get into, based on where their license level is at. There are also some special series that run at specific times that anyone can jump into, with the right credentials, that offer a more meaningful sim racing experience.

Here are a few of the highlighted series taking place this week.

FIA F4 ESPORTS REGIONAL TOURS

Every week, FIA F4 Esports Regional Tour races take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 11:00 PM in time zones appropriate for each region. While all iRacers are eligible to run in any region’s event, the servers will always be set to the most appropriate iRacing server for each region.

Week 9 Schedule:

  • Americas: Road America – Full Course
  • Asia-Pacific: Sandown International Motor Raceway
  • Europe-North: Motorsport Arena Oschersleben – Grand Prix
  • Europe-South: Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari – Grand Prix

iRACING WEEKLY CHALLENGE

iRacing’s latest new series concept comes to life for 2024 Season 1 with the introduction of the iRacing Weekly Challenge. If you’re into all forms of road racing, this is the series for you—it’s 12 weeks of different car and track combinations, with no repeats on either, for a season-long championship. Prove you’re the best at everything from sports cars to open-wheel racers on a global tour of some of iRacing’s most popular circuits.

Each week will feature points races every hour, leading up to a main event on Sunday at 20:00 GMT that features splits by weekly points. Races will be 20 minutes long and are open to iRacers with Class D licenses and higher. A separate set of points will also be tracked for the top splits of the Sunday main events on their own landing page. In addition, $5 in iRacing credits will be awarded each week to a random driver who makes the top split of the Sunday main event.

Week 9 Schedule:

  • Street Stock at Watkins Glen International – Cup

RING MEISTER / DRAFT MASTER COMBINATIONS

Two of the more unique daily racing series added in recent seasons are the Ring Meister Ricmotech Series and the Draft Master Series, where the cars change every week as opposed to the tracks. This season, the setups are fixed in both series, which means it’s all about jumping in and racing the combination at hand.

The Ring Meister Ricmotech Series (Races on every odd 2 hours | Qualifying every even 2 hours at :30) takes place at the Nürburgring Nordschleife – Industriefahrten and cycles through mostly road-type racing vehicles every week.

As for Draft Master (every hour), there are two tracks—Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway—and six NASCAR vehicles that each track will cycle through. This series moves back to Talladega for the final six weeks of 2024 Season 1.

Week 9 Schedule:

  • Ring Meister: Ligier JS P320 (LMP3) at Nürburgring Nordschleife – Industriefahrten
  • Draft Master: NASCAR Xfinity Series vehicles at Talladega Superspeedway

Official iRacing eSports

The eSports season is back in full swing as both the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup and the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series ramping up their 2024 productions. Both series have run one race so far, granted the eNASCAR event was an exhibition. While eNASCAR takes off this week, the Supercup and accompanying All-Stars event will race on Saturday once again.

PORSCHE TAG HEUER ESPORTS SUPERCUP

Both the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports All-Stars and Supercup travel to Hockenheim in Germany on Saturday for the second event in the 2024 season. Sebastian Job was the big winner over this past weekend, scooping up 82 points, a TAG Heuer Pole Award, and a Feature victory at Daytona. Diogo Pinto and Zac Campbell will look for some of the same successes they had in the 2023 season at Hockenheim as both left Daytona in solid position.

HOCKENHEIM RACE #2 – BROADCAST STARTS WITH ALL-STARS AT 1:00 PM ET (18:00 GMT) – SUPERCUP AT 2:00 PM ET (19:00 GMT)

Around the iRacing Community

Two prominent iRacing communities are hosting their own NASCAR-style, 500-mile races at Daytona this upcoming weekend.

BARR VISUALS FTF 500

More than 160 drivers are entered into qualifying for the 10th running of the Barr Visuals FTF 500 at Daytona International Speedway this year, the first race of their 2024 full season schedule. Many top eNASCAR drivers, such as Zack Novak and Michael Cosey Jr, are entered into this year’s event. Last year’s winner, Ryan Doucette, will be one of the more than 100 drivers remaining that will try to run FTF’s alphabet soup on Friday night to be the final entry into the main event.

Coverage of the soup and the main event will be on FTF.gg’s Twitch channel. The main event kicks off on Saturday, February 10th at 9:00 pm ET.

6th ANNUAL PODIUM 500

For the sixth straight year, more than 200 sim racers are entered to attempt Podium Esports’ marquee event, the Podium 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Qualifying wrapped up over the weekend, and the front row will be occupied by eNASCAR champion Zack Novak alongside Sunoco Cup Series veteran Lawson Peel. Another eNASCAR champion in Casey Kirwan will be looking for his third win in the event again this year after winning last year’s over another former winner, Daniel Eberhardt.

Heat races will take place on Wednesday and Thursday while Saturday sets the field with Last Chance Qualifiers and the Duel race events. The main event takes place on Super Bowl Sunday, February 11th at 11:00 am ET. Coverage will be live on the Podium eSports’ social channels.
