Welcome back to This Week in iRacing, our weekly post that details all you need to know about what is going on in the world of iRacing!

As always, This Week includes topics ranging from official eSports to some of the top community-driven events, and everything in between.

It’s a special new-build-edition of This Week, complete with all of the fun and exciting series running during Week 13 to showcase our new content and features. Did anyone else feel any raindrops? Rain is almost here! Week 13 is set to be the wettest week on iRacing to date.

Here’s what you should know 2024 Season 1, Week 13, from March 5th to March 11th, 2024.

For the Members: iRacing Official Series Highlights

Every week, iRacing offers daily, even hourly racing that members can get into, based on where their license level is at. There are also some special series that run at specific times that anyone can jump into, with the right credentials, that offer a more meaningful sim racing experience. Week 13 has less official series than normal as the new build comes in, but there are still a few ranked and unranked series to partake in.

Here are a few of the highlighted series taking place this week.

WEEK 13 SERIES

On Tuesday, March 5th, the 2024 Season 2 build is scheduled to release with new content and updates across the service. Members who want to get in on the new content will get the chance to do so in some of our curated week-long series. New content this build includes a ton, such as the SRX, Dirt Micro Sprint, Misano, Portimao, and Millbridge. The new Tempest Weather System will also ship with the new build, which means after the update, wet weather racing will also feature in the Week 13 festivities.

New Content and Features Series* for 2024 Season 1 Week 13 (*all start after build):

  • 13th Week GT3 Challenge – Fixed: GT3s (includes Misano/Portimao, rain probably)
  • 13th Week Shiny New Shakedown: SRX
  • 13th Week Dirt Ridiculousness: Dirt Micro Sprint winged and non-winged (includes Millbridge)
  • 13th Week Funny Forecast: Toyota GR86 and GT3s at Nurburgring Industriefahrten (rain expected)
  • 13th Week Wet and Wild: GTPs and LMP2 (includes Portimao, rain expected)

NASCAR iRACING SERIES

Back in 2024, the NASCAR iRacing Series (Open Setup and Fixed Setup) follows the NASCAR Cup Series schedule for a 36-week racing season. Week 4 is set to take place at Phoenix Raceway this week, utilizing the NASCAR Next Gen Stock Cars from Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota.

The races this week are scheduled for:

Fixed Schedule: Wednesday, 21:00 GMT; Friday, 02:00 GMT; Saturday, 10:00 and 17:00 GMT; Monday, 02:00 GMT
Open Schedule: Thursday, 02:00 and 19:00 GMT; Saturday, 02:00 GMT; Sunday, 15:00 GMT

INDYCAR iRACING SERIES

With the return of INDYCAR, the INDYCAR iRacing Series (Open Setup) predominantly follows the real world INDYCAR schedule. It will have full length races on road courses while utilizing amended race distances for the ovals during the 16-week racing season. The opening week is set to take place at Sebring international Raceway starting on March 5th, utilizing the Dallara IR-18.

Schedule: Thursday, 01:00 GMT; Friday, 20:00 GMT, Saturday, 18:00 GMT; Sunday, 02:00 GMT

RACING PRODIGY MAZDA SPEC MX-5 GOLDEN TICKET SERIES

For a special seven-week series that spans the end of 2024 Season 1 and 2024 Season 2, Racing Prodigy will have an official road racing series (a Sports Car licensed series once the road license split happens) for their Mazda Spec MX-5 Golden Ticket Series. The top-48 leaders in the final points from the series advance to enter the Series Finals which start on Sunday, April 7.

While the ranked series is open to all iRacing members to participate in, those looking to enter for Racing Prodigy’s program need a Racing Prodigy Membership (RPM), either the PRL iRacing Game Pass or the PRL Combo Game Pass will suffice in order to be considered for the top-48. The car that will be used is the legacy Mazda MX-5 from 2010.

There will be seven time slots to participate in every weekend during the seven-week series:

  • Friday:
    • 4:00 p.m. ET / 21:00 GMT
  •  Saturday:
    • 4:00 a.m. ET / 09:00 GMT
    • 11:00 a.m. ET / 16:00 GMT
    • 4:00 p.m. ET / 21:00 GMT
  •  Sunday:
    • 4:00 a.m. ET / 09:00 GMT
    • 11:00 a.m. ET / 16:00 GMT
    • 4:00 p.m. ET / 21:00 GMT
