This Week in iRacing: November 7-13, 2023

Good evening, and welcome back to This Week in iRacing, our weekly post that details all you need to know about what is going on in the world of iRacing! 

From official eSports to some of the top community-driven events, and everything in between, here’s what you should know for Week 9 of 2023 Season 4, from November 7th to the 13th.

Also, take note of some of the time changes this week at Daylight Savings Time has ended in different parts of the world.

For the Members: iRacing Official Series Highlights

Every week, iRacing offers daily, even hourly racing that members can get into, based on where their license level is at. There are also some special series that run at specific times that anyone can jump into, with the right credentials, that offer a more meaningful sim racing experience. Here are a few of the highlighted series taking place this week.

SPECIAL EVENT: COACH DAVE ACADEMY FUJI 8HR

Another iRacing Special Event is upon us this week with the inaugural running of the iRacing Fuji 8 Hours, presented by Coach Dave Academy. This particular race will feature eight different vehicles in the GT3 class for eight hours of racing around the 16-turn, 2.84-mile Fuji International Speedway venue in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Fuji 8HR Special Event Schedule: Friday, 22:00 GMT; Saturday, 7:00 GMT; Saturday, 12:00 GMT; Saturday, 16:00 GMT

WINTER NASCAR iRACING SERIES

With the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season complete (congratulations to Ryan Blaney on scoring the 2023 championship!), the NASCAR iRacing Series takes a break until the 2024 season begins. In its place for the Winter is the Winter NASCAR iRacing Series (WNiS), a similarly-structured fixed and open setup series which will utilize the 1987 NASCAR Cup Series cars. The opening round of the series is a trip to the legacy edition of Daytona Int’l Speedway for 120 laps of racing.

The races this week are scheduled for:

Fixed Schedule: Wednesday, 21:00 GMT; Friday, 02:00 GMT; Saturday, 10:00 and 17:00 GMT; Monday, 02:00 GMT

Open Schedule: Thursday, 02:00 and 19:00 GMT; Saturday, 02:00 GMT; Sunday, 15:00 GMT

FIA F4 ESPORTS REGIONAL TOURS

Every week, FIA F4 Esports Regional Tour races take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 11:00 PM in time zones appropriate for each region. While all iRacers are eligible to run in any region’s event, the servers will always be set to the most appropriate iRacing server for each region.

Week 9 Schedule: 

• Americas: Willow Springs – Big Willow
• Asia-Pacific: Phillip Island Circuit
• Europe-North: Snetterton Circuit – 300
• Europe-South: Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto – Grand Prix

RING MEISTER / DRAFT MASTER COMBINATIONS

Two of the more unique daily racing series added in recent seasons are the Ring Meister Ricmotech Series and the Draft Master Series, where the cars change every week as opposed to the tracks.

Ring Meister (every ODD hour EST/GMT) takes place at the Nürburgring Nordschleife – Industriefahrten and cycles through mostly road-type racing vehicles every week.

As for Draft Master (every hour), there are two tracks—Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway—and six NASCAR vehicles that each track will cycle through. Once again, the series is set to take on Talladega this week.

Official iRacing eSports

While some of the Qualifying and Contender seasons are complete as of last week, there are still loads to look forward to in professional sim racing esports. There will be another eNASCAR Doubleheader on Tuesday night, another oval race for the Grand Prix Turn Racing iRacing Series, and the intense IMSA Esports Global Championship heads to upstate New York for the second round of the season.

eNASCAR COLLEGE / CONTENDER iRACING SERIES DOUBLE FEATURE

On Tuesday night, the fifth race of the 2023 eNASCAR Contender iRacing Series heads to Richmond Raceway, but while that is going on, the third round of the 2023 eNASCAR College iRacing Series takes center stage with 110 laps around Dover Motor Speedway.

BROADCAST STARTS AT 8:00 PM ET (01:00 GMT) 

GRAND PRIX TURN RACING iRACING SERIES

Thursday afternoon plays host to some top level open-wheel competition in the Grand Prix Turn Racing iRacing Series. For only the second time, an oval—rather, a triangle—will be the battleground as the road ringers take on Pocono Raceway. Przemyslaw Marek Lemanek has the 2023 championship in his grasp. Can he survive and clinch the title a week early, or will the battle continue into the finale in two weeks?

BROADCAST STARTS AT 2:00 PM ET (19:00 GMT) 

IMSA ESPORTS GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday, the second race of the 2023 IMSA Esports Global Championship heads to Watkins Glen Int’l for another two hours and 40 minutes of racing. This season is the first to host all four of the current manufacturers of the IMSA GTP class, which iRacing proudly offers members the chance to drive, including the BMW M Hybrid V8, Cadillac V-Series.R, Acura ARX-06 and the Porsche 963. At Road Atlanta, the GTP class went to the #90 URANO eSports Datagroup team while the GTD class was won by the #101 Mercedes-AMG Team ART entry.
